On Monday's season premiere of "The Bachelor," there was about a three-second clip of Matt James wearing a Kevin Johnson Texans jersey.
If you were doing anything else in addition to watching the show - "The Bachelor" is the perfect laundry-folding background noise show - you might have missed it.
In the first couple minutes, they were giving everyone the lowdown on James as the bachelor. He goes for runs shirtless, he loves his mother and he works with kids. Yes, ABC was laying it on thick right from the jump.

HOW GOOD WAS HE?: A look at The Bachelor's Matt James football career
James and Johnson are close friends, spending five years as college teammates at Wake Forest. Both were part of the Demon Deacons' 2010 recruiting class and redshirted together their first season on campus before playing together the next four seasons.
With Johnson being Wake Forest's best cornerback and James being among the team's best receivers, the two often went head-to-head in practice. In fact, before the 2014 season, Wake Forest coach Dave Clawson said NFL scouts were at his practice asking him to pit Johnson against James.
“They said ‘Coach, the matchup we want to see is (Johnson) versus (James),” Clawson told the Winston Salem Journal in 2014. “I said ‘That’s the matchup you’re going to get whether you want it or not.’
Matt James, the charismatic and engaging star of ABCs hit romance reality series The Bachelor, will hand out the roses for its momentous 25th season.

A SPORTSWRITER'S VIEW: 'The Bachelor' is the best sporting event on TV
Johnson went on to get picked by the Texans in the first round of that next year's draft. Johnson played four seasons with the Texans before signing with the Buffalo Bills in 2019. This season, he's started six games for the Cleveland Browns.
James, who went undrafted, got invited to Carolina Panthers training camp in 2015 but was released before the preseason started.
