Lucifer season 6 release date revealed in first teaser trailer - digitalspy.com

Lucifer's sixth and final season has a release date at last, with the Netflix gods also bestowing a first-look teaser trailer on fans ahead of the new episodes arriving.

The first season six footage was revealed during Lucifer's Comic-Con@Home panel this weekend, which featured lead star Tom Ellis and executive producers Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich.

It has also been confirmed that the show's final batch of episodes will arrive on Netflix on September 10.

The trailer features a montage of snippet highlights from the seasons so far, finally concluding with a scene reminiscent of the pilot episode, where Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) is pulled over by a police officer.

Ominously, he concludes by saying he's celebrating his "last night in LA". Where is he off to and what does it mean for the rest of his friends and family?

During the show's panel, actor Ellis revealed that he hopes fans will enjoy being surprised during this final season.

"We spoil a lot in our trailers and we like to do that because we like everyone talking. But this is the final season," he said, according to IGN. "We're trying to keep our hands really close to the vest. This is the last year that we have secrets [and] can surprise people."

The actor recently shared a first-look image of the new season on Instagram, revealing a photo of Lucifer leaning against a DeLorean. Whether he will be time-travelling in the show is another question, but with Lucifer, nothing is impossible.

Screenwriter Chris Rafferty has spoken about the challenges of ending the much-loved series, saying that his "number one goal" was finishing the show in a way that fans would enjoy and to help them "find some sense of peace by the time it's over".

Lucifer seasons 4 and 5 are available to watch now on Netflix. Catch up on seasons 1-3 via Amazon Prime Video.
